So today’s day 12 of my 100 Days of Makeup Challenge and I decided to do another ‘non-neutral’ look, and after I was done I realised it was perfect seeming as June is pride month!
I was scrolling Instagram and saw a post with some kind of rainbow makeup (my memories terrible so I just remember that I saw it not what it was) and remembered seeing a full rainbow eyelid going across both eyes. So I did a quick google of ‘rainbow eyeshadow’ to check the colour order. Then off I went! And this is how it turned out:
I know I know, thats a lot of photos but some days the photos come out better. And those days I think I just have to roll with it and accept it!
Before I list my eye and lip makeup details I just wanted to talk about foundation. I do this thing where when I love a foundation I literally use it all the time, even though I have others. That’s what’s been happening recently with my Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid, I’m in the shade 1-natural ivory, (Buy it here from Boots.com). But a few months ago I went to Sephora with the intention of buying the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Stick but got talked out of it by the sales person. So I ended up with the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, I tried it but never really liked it. It would stick to my dry patches and make me look as dry as a concrete wall. (not a good look fyi) Therefore I never really wore it.
But 2 days ago I decided to try it with my new foundation application. Instead of dotting the foundation on my face and then blending with my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, I’ve been using the sponge to pick up the foundation from the back of my hand, and then blending. I know, you’re probably thinking, ‘okay but why should that make a difference?’ And honestly I have no clue, but it does! For some reason it makes the Nars foundation look really good! (still with a more matte finish whereas I prefer a normal one but who am I to complain?) Then today I decided to mix the Nars and Maybelline, and OMG it was so good! Perfect medium to full coverage with a normal finish that lasted beautifully! So if anyone knows why this happens I would love to know!
Now back to today’s look!
- Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion ‘Eden’ to prime, it makes my eyes a little dry but we shall use it all up then purchase something different!
- Morphe 35c palette, this was literally the only palette I used and it was perfect for this look!
- Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick in ‘Celebrity Skin’ and then ‘Nude Beach’ in the middle.
I think thats about it for todays post, I hope you enjoyed it!
Until next time
