First Impressions

What I got in my Beautylish 2018 Lucky Bag!

So every year do these things called Lucky Bags. Online they say they are inspired by the Japanese New Year’s tradition of fukubukuro and that they’re full of their most coveted products!

For the past 2 years I’ve always wanted to get one to see if it was as amazing as it seemed. Like $75 for 6 products with a total worth of over $150! It seemed like the perfect way to try products & brands that you’ve always wanted to but could never justify buying. Plus they always come out just after New Year meaning that I was always broke after buying christmas presents…

However, this year me and my sister decided to get one together and then split the products, so then it wouldn’t be so expensive, incase it didn’t end up being worth it. (Because living in Sweden I have to remember customs charges and shipping :/ ) In total it came to $114 which is quite a lot to risk hoping you get good products in the end… (Says me who’s happy to spend on $100+ of Jeffree Star lipsticks) And then we just had to wait, as they wouldn’t be shipped for another few weeks.

"Your order has been shipped"
So this was basically me for most of January.

Then FINALLY this week it arrived! I’m not the kind of person that can wait patiently for surprises so this was definitely the fastest I’ve ever opened a box in my life!

And this is what I got!

The Ordinary. High-Adherence Silicone Primer

So this primer states that it is a “High-adherence Blurring Surface Smother and Primer” which gave me pretty high hopes! Anything that will smooth, blur and make my makeup apply better is always something to get excited about! I tried this for the first time yesterday and I didn’t notice an immediate difference when I first applied it like I do with my other Blurring primers, but it did keep my makeup looking flawless for the entire day! So I’ll definitely be testing this some more to see if it becomes my new holy grail primer!

Becca Cosmetics Après Ski Glow Face Palette

Packaging wise this palette is absolutely stunning! Why are Becca Products always so pretty?! Unfortunately this is one of the products my sister will be getting… (But I will sure as hell be borrowing to test it out!) So you get 3 highlighters, 2 blushes and 1 bronzer in the palette which I think makes it a perfect travel palette as you have everything in one place! The only thing with this palette is I’m not sure if the ‘Blushed Copper’ blush is going to work on my skin tone as a blush, but I mean if not it will definitely make a stunning eyeshadow!

Jouer Skinny Dip Ultra Foil Shimmer Shadows Palette

Another stunning palette! And this one I get to keep for myself!! I’ve tried a couple colours out of this palette and they are SOO pigmented and GLITTERY with little to no fall out! They remind me a lot of the Stila liquid metals but in powder form, so I’m really excited to try all the shades!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick ‘Nathan’

Okay so this is another one that my sister gets as I’ve already got this one. But it was still totally worth getting because now I get the box to it! Because I’m weird and don’t just collect his lipsticks but the boxes as well…. And in the Family collection box the lipsticks weren’t in their individual boxes… So now I only have to find the other 4!

Wayne Goss The Brow Set

I love Wayne Goss’ videos, I think they’re super fun to watch and they’re always very informative too. So I always feel like I’ve learned something after watching him! But his brushes are pretty pricey so I haven’t got around to trying them yet, but now I can! So I feel like my eyebrow game is only going to get better with these brushes helping me out!

Clean Apothecary Brush Shampoo

So this was probably the least exciting product in the box as it wasn’t makeup. Although, I am hoping it will make washing my brushes that little bit less tedious. Just swirling your brush in this shampoo instead of using both washing up liquid and hair conditioner sound so much simpler! I’ll definitely be trying this out the next time!

So overall I’m super excited to use/ try all the products that we got and I think these Lucky Bags are seriously worth it! I just love the idea of getting to try new things and getting surprised by how good they are!

What do you think of the Lucky bag idea or did you get one yourself? I’d love to hear what you think in the comments!

Until next time,
